Uhhh how to explain name day? It’s a Polish tradition (or rather Eastern Europe tradition). The modern tradition of name-days come from early Christianity. Name was to commemorate the martyrdom of a saint or blessed. This kind of festivity was strongly associated with the cult of saints and Christianity in general. This is what you can find in history books, but now name-days are time for party every year at the same day. Because every name has their own special day in calendar. And Anna’s is 26th of July. AND I AM BAKING MUFFINS! XD And there will be gifts and party. It’s just like birthday but without candles and being one year older XD
